I believe in every child; that they can learn to read music and play the piano. I use mostly the Alfred and Faber (Piano Adventures) methods of teaching but am open to using other methods to fit the needs of the individual student. Each lesson or piece from these methods incorporates music theory AND there are no "gaps" in the curriculum. There are also recital, patriotic, Christmas, jazz and pop books for each level to keep each student interested in what they’re learning. I also use some John Thompson when a student gets to the intermediate level of playing because it focuses more on technique and classical style music.
